I grew up in New York City and spent over 15 years working for a day treatment agency — starting at the bottom and working my way up into Human Resources. But something was always pulling me in a different direction.
When I bought my first home in my 20s, I hired contractor after contractor — and kept finding myself fixing the imperfections they left behind. Eventually I thought: "If I'm paying someone to do the work and then fixing it myself anyway, why not just do it myself?"
As my family grew, we moved to New Jersey where I started taking on weekend projects to earn extra money. I quickly discovered something unexpected — I genuinely loved it. Working with my hands, transforming spaces, making homes beautiful. That passion gave me the courage to leave my job and start CPR Home Improvements.
I won't pretend it was easy. Running your own business has real challenges, and there were moments I questioned whether I made the right choice. But then my clientele grew. And something remarkable happened — customers I met in those early years are still with me 20 years later. I've watched their children grow up. I've seen some of them get married. These aren't just customers — they're relationships.
